QUALITY CARE WITH DIGNITY

Cornmill provides nursing, residential and convalescent care for up to 48 residents, of which seven may be classified as having a physical disability below pensionable age.

We provide long term care for those who need daily nursing, holidays or a short stay to enable family carers to take a break and convalescent or post-operative care for residents recovering from an accident, illness or operation.

It is the aim at Cornmill to provide a comfortable and enjoyable home in rather special surroundings with a friendly and companionable atmosphere. Cornmill is run with the intention that each resident achieves their best social, physical, mental and emotional health whilst in our care.

It is the aim of everyone at Cornmill to provide a secure, stable, caring and comfortable environment where individuality of care and maintenance of dignity is paramount for residents entrusted to us.

The nursing team ensure an excellent standard of nursing care is maintained at all times. The trained staff are very well qualified nurses augmented by experienced nurse auxiliaries who are supported by an on-going training programme and encouraged to obtain NVQ certification ensuring a high degree of professionalism.

Cornmill is a "preferred provider" for Lancashire Social Services and a member of ECCA and Lancashire Care Association.

ISO9001:2000 is a nationally and internationally recognised standard and provides Cornmill Nursing Home with a solid framework around which we have developed a documented system of quality management. This system is combined with measurements of quality of care so that we can factually demonstrate that an excellent standard exists, is being maintained and continually improved.

It is easy to claim that a home is providing quality of service and good standards. We can demonstrate by virtue of our ISO9001:2000 certificate and the continuous independent surveillance of the award together with our documentary evidence that we are actually providing excellent standards.
