Code of Practice
CODE OF PRACTICE Members of the Lancashire Care Association are required to: - Act in such a manner as to enhance the reputation of the independent care sector
- Positively promote egood professional practicef by providing the highest possible standards of care
- Be fully aware of their responsibilities with regard to current legislation and regulations relevant to their organisation
- Be honest, ethical and sympathetic in all dealings with clients
- Respect the dignity of the client
- Involve clients and/or relatives/advocates in decision making
- Provide information to clients regarding costs, funding etc
- Ensure a safe working environment
- Ensure that care workers receive training commensurate with their role
- Challenge discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, language etc
- Ensure the protection of clientsf rights and recognise that the general welfare of the client is paramount
- Uphold the current policies of the LCA and comply with the appropriate Code of Conduct/Practice of other professional organisations whom the LCA recognise or to whom the LCA is affiliated
