ASHMEADE RESIDENTIAL HOME 

Ashmeade is a small privately run home which caters for Ladies only, it is non-smoking and in the main has a quiet homely ambience.

Established in 1981 it has been owned and managed by Dr. & Mrs Rhodes since 1989. Major alterations, have resulted in a transformation from an 11 bedded semi detached home with shared rooms, to a detached home which has 9 single rooms, 5 with en-suite, and 3 shared rooms.

Ashmeade is situated in a residential area of Burnley on the main A679, close to Jct 10 (M65). It is an Edwardian detached property with gardens front and rear, very close to local parks, shops and the main bus route.

Our aims are: To provide quality personal care and accommodation as defined by section 49 of the Health & Social Care Act 2001, to elderly people, of female sex, over the age of 65. We provide long-term care, respite, (no beds are assigned solely for this purpose) and intermediate care.

To foster an atmosphere of care and support which both enables and encourages our clients to live as full, interesting and independent a lifestyle as possible with rules and regulations being kept to a minimum.

Visitors & prospective clients are welcome to view the home at anytime between 10am-8pm, no appointment is necessary. However should you wish to speak to the owner then it is advisable to telephone before visiting.

Willowbank caters for all denominations.  We are an equal opportunity institution. Arrangements may be made for our service users to meet their religious worshipping requirements by arranging with the respective faith clergy to visit the home. However, if required, arrangements may also be made for the service user to visit specific places to worship with prior notice for the home to arrange transportation. Relatives, friends and representatives may visit at any time. If advised in advance, arrangements may be made for relatives to have a meal with the service user.

WORDSWORTH HOUSE CARE CENTRE

At Wordsworth House we provide quality residential care for older people as well as specialist care for older people with dementia.

The home is on a main bus route and is conveniently situated just a few miles away from the centre of Burnley.

Wordsworth House can accommodate up to 40 residents. The accommodation is provided on one floor and has two spacious lounges and two dining rooms. We offer single and double rooms, all with en-suite facilities. Wordsworth House also has extensive grounds with a patio area for the residents to enjoy.

The comfort of our residents is very important to us, so each room is decorated to a high standard. You're welcome to bring personal belongings such as ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture.

We never forget this is your home, and meal times are no different. You can choose to eat your meals in the dining room or your own room, and we can provide meals for your visitors as well.

Our appetising, home-cooked meals are nutritionally balanced and we can cater for any special dietary needs - such as low fat or vegetarian.

At Wordsworth House we have a dedicated Activities Organiser to arrange a programme within the home that includes arts and crafts, games and entertainment. There are also regular organised trips and events outside the home, including visits to the local theatre to see concerts and musicals.

You will find a wide range of support services in the home, including a hairdresser, visiting chiropodist and dentist. Of course, we also provide full catering and laundry facilities.

Everyone needs to feel secure, so each room has a 24-hour call system - help is at hand whenever you need it. A lockable facility is also available for your valuables.
