Elmsdene Care Home on Dean Street in South Shore was purchased by Sheridan Care in 2005. It has enjoyed extensive refurbishment to ensure all residents have the facilities as well as the person-centred care and support they deserve.

Residents enjoy healthy and hearty cuisine prepared by specialist chefs on the premises. They can take advantage of the purpose-built hairdressing salon on the first floor as well as a number of lounges where activities such as dancing, baking, dominoes and group physiotherapy regularly take place.
    
For those who enjoy the fresh air Elmsdene has a courtyard garden and outdoor seating. Residents with an interest in horticulture are encouraged take part in gardening activities and can participate in accompanied trips to local garden centres. Lunchtime trips to the local fish and chip restaurant are regular occurences for those who enjoy freshly caught local fare served the traditional seaside way, as well as accompanied excursions to local shops and the promenade.

Honeysuckle House Care Home is situated in a quiet location a short stroll from the seafront in Blackpool's South Shore. It was acquired by Sheridan Care in 2007 and all resident facilities have been extensively and sensitvely refurbished to support the Sheridan Care approach.

Residents enjoy use of a large day lounge and dining area where activities such as dancing, physiotherapy and dominoes sessions are well attended. Trips out to the nearby gardens and cafe of the Solaris Centre often take place, as do swimming sessions at a nearby pool and trips to other local places of interest.
    
The recent refurbishment has included the upgrade of all the bedrooms, many with new ensuite facilities; new wet rooms; a new superbly-equipped kitchen and an additional new day lounge.

PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HOME FOR THE BLIND

The Princess Alexandra Home is a modern, impressive, purpose-built home specialising in care for elderly visually impaired people.

The home accommodates 40 visually impaired people in single bedrooms with en-suite facilities.  All bedrooms are fitted with nurse call points and the latest standard of fire protection.  The home offers permanent, respite and short-term residential care.  All bedrooms are furnished and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with belongings that are familiar to them.

Catering in the home is provided to professional standards by a specialist catering organisation.  A choice of breakfast in bed is offered with other meals being served in the dining room.  At each meal a choice of menu is available and specialist diets can be catered for.

There are a number of lounges situated on both floors of the building with access to the first floor by use of stairs or lift.  All areas are especially bright with contrasting colour schemes.  Corridors are wide enough for ambulant persons or wheelchairs to pass each other with ease, as well as featuring colour-coded handrails on each side of the corridor.

There are five fully equipped bathrooms throughout the home situated on the two floors.  Each bathroom includes a toilet accessible with various grab-rails, wash hand basin and hand dryers as well as hydraulic chair lifts to assist people into the bath. Showers are also available for use.

Other facilities include a hairdressing salon, laundry facility, visitors’ room, mini bus, outings and entertainment.  In addition there are six sheltered flats, day care, a bathing service and access to the onsite resource and rehabilitation centre, the talking newspaper studio and social centre.
 
The Home’s philosophy of care considers the whole person and endeavours to help visually impaired people to improve their quality of life by offering a secure, manageable and comfortable environment.
