ARJO

Resident handling, bathing, disinfection and hydrotherapy equipment

ARJO manufacture and distribute a range of resident handling, bathing, disinfection and hydrotherapy equipment, designed to provide solutions that improve the working environment for staff and increase quality of care for the elderly and disabled people in need of care.

Resident Handling Equipment
ARJO offer a full range of resident handling equipment to suit the requirements of all care and nursing facilities. From standing and raising aids designed for basic toileting and transfers, to a complete overhead ceiling lift system available with a choice of cassette and track layout.

ARJO hoists use the unique Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), which allows the carer to reposition the resident with minimal physical effort between upright and reclined.   A Powered DPS is also available which reduces the strain on carers to a minimum.

Bathing Equipment
In addition to the range of hoists, ARJO produce bathing chairs and stretchers, Hi-Lo baths, shower trolleys and shower cabinets. There is a full selection of bathing systems suitable for both assisted and unassisted bathing.  The systems come with a choice of options including standard or height adjustable tubs, hydromassage, autofill and disinfection systems.

Disinfection
ARJO has developed highly effective bedpan washer disinfectors as well as complete sluice room systems which play an important part in eliminating the spread of cross infection.  ARJO bedpan washers also benefit from low running costs and are both energy saving and space saving.

Service
ARJO is supported by our nationwide team of over 100 factory trained engineers who service and repair both ARJO and other manufacturers equipment. They operate a comprehensive service of expert installations and planned preventative maintenance programmes, along with a fast repair service.

Mobility Gallery
ARJO has developed the Mobility Gallery which is a communication tool based on five different levels of functional mobility, ranging from totally mobile and independent to completely bedridden.  This has been designed to assist carers identify the type of person they have in their care, and help to identify and solve day-to-day problems relating to care plans and care safety issues.

The residents featured in the Mobility Gallery are classified according to their degree of functional mobility.  From the most mobile to the most dependent, you can recognise them by their alphabetical names: Albert, Barbara, Carl, Doris and Emma.  Each resident has their own profile with individual characteristics and background details within the elderly care environment.

This led to the development of further characters to accommodate other settings such as hospitals, special care, homecare and to include bariatric residents.

Care Thermometer
Care ThermometerThe Care Thermometer is an easy-to-use, web-based self-assessment tool that focuses on the physical loads that care staff are exposed to.  A step-by-step self-assessment will generate an overview of your facility on data about current resident mobility levels, basic care tasks and the support equipment used.

The results can then be used to pinpoint areas for improvement, and with regular use of the Care Thermometer, these improvements can be tracked and the improvement in the quality of care provided.
